Objectives

The Doctoral School of Experimental Cancerology aims at promoting basic research in the field of cancerology. Understanding the fundamental biology underlying cancer is mandatory for developing efficient therapeutic strategies.

The research institutes and teams contributing to this thematic school have gained a recognized expertise in complementary fields including (epi)genetics, oncogenesis, tumor microenvironment, immunology, angiogenesis, metabolism, cancer cell signaling.

This Doctoral School wants to facilitate the access of PhD students to state-of-the-art technologies and to stimulate scientific exchanges, as well as the mobility of researchers between laboratories and research institutions.

Our objectives are to provide PhD students with a research and an education program of academic excellence and to look after their needs in technical trainings. Main activities relate to skill development and multidisciplinary trainings in the field of experimental cancerology.

This Doctoral School is offering a panel of seminars and workshops addressing technical and conceptual issues faced by PhD students. When organizing an activity, a special emphasis is given on contacts with clinicians to get basic research into clinical perspective. Each year, PhD students are awarded with Prizes for best posters and best oral communications during the annual meeting.
